Has this happened to you? You have a really great female friend and each of you considers the other to be ‘just a friend’. Then you wake up one morning and it strikes you that you feel more than just friendship for this lady. Now would you handle this? Keep quiet and have your feeling would hunt you forever or do you just tell her?
I would rather go with the ‘tell her’ option. But be careful getting the ‘tell her’ option right can make the difference between getting a positive response and scaring her off forever.
Here are some proven steps to help you get it right:
Step 1: Watch out for signs that she might also be interested in you
If you notice that she might be interested in becoming your girlfriend, then that makes your job a whole lot easier. Does she treat you more special than she treats her other male friends? Does she say things that suggest that she would like to take the friendship further? Is she displeased when you show more attention to your other female friends, or when you don’t notice something new she’s wearing? Such actions are signs that she has special interest in you. If the signs are convincing enough, then just ask her out, if not, then move on to step 2.
Step 2: Drop the hint
Be subtle but direct with this step. Ask her simple questions like: ‘What kind of guy do you see yourself going out with?’, or ‘Do you see yourself hooking up with a guy like me?’ If you get positive responses then that’s a license to get more daring. If she keeps giving you negative or critical replies, then it’s time for step 3.
Step 3: Be sincere
Going through steps 1 and 2 would already have given her the idea that you want her to become your girlfriend, and now it’s time for you to come out plain. Just ask her to become your girlfriend and you might just be shocked at the answer you get.
Still not sure? Then check out more advanced ways go get a girl here!
